Kate Merrick

Kate Merrick is an emerging dance artist living and working across NSW. She graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance). During her time at WAAPA Kate had the pleasure of working with many incredible artists and choreographers. Her most notable experience includes working with the Pina Bausch Foundation to remount the iconic work ‘Tannhauser Bacchanal” for her graduating performance.

Since graduation Kate has been working as an independent artist and has had the privilege of working and performing with NSW based companies Dance Makers Collective, Shaun Parker & Company and Twisted Element. In 2023 and 2024 Kate joined Dance Makers Collective’s, Future Makers ensemble. An opportunity that allowed her to collaborate with fellow emerging dancers and makers to develop new works, including “Move FM” which was performed in the 2024 Sydney Fringe Festival.

In 2025 Kate became one of DirtyFeet’s secondees which has been an incredible experience and has taught her so much about making dance work and creating inclusive spaces within the arts. Kate is hungry to keep learning and continues to search for what moves her.
