Building on the creative discoveries and developments of 2023, the series delves into choreographic processes such as experimentation, movement scores, and devised-theatre methods. These techniques are designed to develop storytelling skills and choreographic creation. Led by and tailored for artists with disability, the program offers a unique opportunity for creative development and professional growth.
Lead Artist Sarah-Vyne Vassallo will deconstruct her own creative processes to guide the emerging dance artists in their making practice and artistic pursuits. The artists will also have the chance to engage in a mentoring session with renowned disabled artist Dan Daw.
"Empowering artists is essential throughout the process, supporting their agency and unique contributions. By fostering the team's artistic interests in creation and practice, and encouraging reflective discussions, my aim is to provide a truly collaborative, equitable, and rich artistic experience," Sarah-Vyne Vassallo.
