DIRTY WORKS
Out of the Studio is an opportunity for emerging choreographers to develop new ideas and a platform to present a new work to audiences in a theatre context.
The program made its debut in 2014 with choreographers Rob McCredie and Sarah-Vyne Vassallo and continued in 2015 with works presented from choreographers Rhiannon Newton and Rosslyn Wythes. In 2016 new works were created by Brianna Kell and Ivey Wawn and in 2017, Thomas E.S.Kelly and Matt Cornell created new works. 2018 new works were created by Sara Black and Lucky Lartey. 2019 artists Emma Harrison and Callum Mooney premiered their works in development at Brand X. In 2020 artists Eliza Cooper and Emily Flannery were unable to present their works to a live audience due to Covid-19 and instead made short documentaries about their creative process and development. In 2022 new works were created by Gabriela Green Olea and Tra Min Dinh as we made a return to the theatre. In 2023 a curated season included works from Azzam Mohamed, Sarah-Vyne Vassallo and Martin del Amo.
