Taiga Kita-Leong is an independent multidisciplinary artist, dancer and performance maker based in Sydney, Australia. Graduating from Newtown High School of the Performing Arts (2019), trained at New Zealand School of Dance (2020) and received an Advanced Diploma in Dance at Sydney Dance Company Pre-Professional (PPY2021).
Within tertiary training and since graduating, he has gone to develop and work with several established artists, organisations and companies, expanding and exploring movement through several creative processes. Taiga has contributed to creative processes and residencies with artists including Sue Healy, Gabrielle Nankivell, James Vu Anh Pham, Meryl Tankard, Cass Mortimer Eipper and Richard Cilli. He has worked and performed with Sydney Dance Company in ‘Decadance’ choreographed by Ohad Naharin for Sydney Festival 2022, Dance Makers Collective in ‘The Rivoli’ choreographed by Miranda Wheen for Regional Tour and in two films ‘On View: Panoramic Suite’ and ‘Circumstance 2020’ directed by Sue Healy.
Taiga is passionate about the moving body. Exploring movement as a whole, questioning and challenging the way of moving in dance and constantly researching the potential.
