Imogen Cranna
Imogen received her Diploma in Dance Performance from the New Zealand School of Dance in 2007. During this year, she performed at The Body Festival in Christchurch in Daniel Belton's Stitchbirds and worked with Shona McCullagh on secondment for her multimedia work Mondo Nuovo. These invaluable experiences inspired her to freelance within the Sydney independent dance community along with developing her own projects exploring the relationship between movement and the multimedia program, Isadora. In 2009 Imogen joined Kay Armstrong’s company youMove, performing in the company’s premier season this way up and in Are We There Yet by Sarah-Vyne Vassallo for the Sydney Festival 2010 opening night. She has also appeared in works by independent choreographer Vicki Van Hout and this year she worked in collaboration with Vicki as a multimedia artist during a development residency for Briwyant at Carriage Works.
Currently, Imogen has an artistic residency under aPatchi creations at Eramboo Artist Environment and last year she presented her first public performance of her multimedia work Tyche. In the 2010 Short Sweet + Dance Imogen featured in a total of four works, including two youMove pieces and Just off the Surface which she co-created with fellow dancer Cloe Fournier, musician Ekrem Mulayim and media artist Guy Harding.
