Choreographic Lab

The Choreographic Lab provides an opportunity for dancers and emerging choreographers to come together to work creatively.  Choreographers are invited to use our workspace and work with our dancers. They may also choose an industry senior to work alongside them as a mentor. The Choreographic Lab provides a supportive environment for artists to test new choreographic ideas, take risks and develop their skills without the pressure of a formal performance outcome.  Artists are given the opportunity to share their work in an informal setting where they can receive important feedback from peers.

The Choreographic Lab made its debut in October 2008. The program has attracted diverse choreographers including Jeni Sutton, Tamarah Tossey, Kathryn Puie, Tanya Voges, Miranda Wheen, Laura Levitus, Ian Colless, Leeke Griffin, Venettia Miller and Sofie Burgoyne.

DirtyFeet are proud to have supported emerging choreographers and to have contributed to the professional development of Sydney’s talented dancers.

DirtyFeet seeks applications from emerging
choreographers for The Choreographic Lab annually. Applications will be out early 2012. Please contact DirtyFeet should you wish to join our mailing list.
